I believe that a good swat on hte butt will never hurt the child at all. There is a difference between beating the living crap out of of child and giving it a good spank on the butt.

I think that a spank on the butt will never hurt a child but in the long run save the child from making stupid mistakes that will ruin there live in the long run. If more parents spanked there kids now of days the kids would be lots more respectful, towards adults, teachers, elders, and mainly there parents.

it depends on how far the kid went without listening. but the parent certainly DOESN'T have the right to abuse the situation: beating until they are so hurt they need hospital attention, whipping,etc. so a swat should certainly be enough to get their attention.
